How long have you been snowboarding/shooting photos/video?
I have been boarding for about 10 years and started shooting photos and videos six years ago.
Are you working on any interesting projects or have any trips coming up?
I'm always planning trips around the world and across the U.S.; it's kind of an addiction. Every year, my friends and I pick a National Park and go backpacking for 1-2 weeks. This year, we're planning a road trip from Rocky Mountain National Park up through Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Glacier and eventually Banff and Jasper National Parks.
What are some of your favorite past projects or trips?
I just got back from and 2.5 month backpacking trip through Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, which was awesome! I love going out of the country to see how people live, but honestly some of my favorite trips have been with a small group of friends, exploring crevasses and canyons, finding good hammock spots, and sitting around the fire at night staring at the stars.
That last thing I want to think about when I'm hiking through pine trees with a 60 pound backpack on, under a waterfall exploring secret caves, or simply walking down Main St. in my hometown is whether or not my gear can keep up. Being a part of the GLCR Project gives me piece of mind because I know I have the best equipment out there.
- My happiness is fueled by discovering the unknown and learning all that I can about people, places and how they interact with each other. As a photojournalist, writer and videographer, my goal is to capture the travels and adventures I experience through the lens and on paper, while bringing social and environmental issues to light.
