If only vintage jackets performed as well as they looked. We made dreams a reality by mashing up fashion and technical features into the Upton Anorak, based off a vintage piece we thrifted in the off-season brought up-to-date with modern fit and functionality.

Found on our 686 styles, our Modern jackets are made to be worn with style and comfort, allowing enough room for layering, and to maximize mobility.
686 exclusive infiDRY® waterproof and breathable fabric fuses our specifically engineered signature fabrics with multiple levels of elemental protection to keep you dry, no matter how bad the conditions get. Every inch of infiDRY® fabric meets strict 686 specifications and endures countless hours of team testing to ensure the utmost waterproofing, breathability and durability. All infiDRY® fabric can sustain multiple washings with a specially formulated outerwear detergent like Nikwax Tech Wash.
This creates a packable system to keep gear in order when not in use. It’s simple: the jacket is folded, rolled, and then the hood bungy tightens around the bundle to keep it that way. This creates organization and increases room in your pack. At the end of the day, you have a bonus roll to be used as a cushion, padding, or pillow.
A lightweight insulation made of circular-like filament groupings that individually retain heat yet provide air movement between each group. The result is moisture resistance with a loft-like feel for superior warmth.
The seams where pieces of fabric are brought together are the most likely spot for moisture to intrude into a garment. The seam taping process prevents this by making the seams as waterproof as their surrounding fabric. Seams in 686 garments can be fully taped throughout the garment or taped only at critical areas to further ensure quality workmanship and guarantee waterproofing.
